The problem

I have no idea where to start with my effluent.

“Rules are changing and I need to upgrade my effluent system but I want to be able to do it once and do it properly and not be sold into something I don’t need. We have staff on this property, so it needs it to be uncomplicated and futureproofed. In years to come we have plans to grow our cow numbers, and install a feed pad and other bits and pieces. There is a lot of information out there and everyone tells me something different. I don’t know where or how to start. ”

The Solution

“Matt came to me after site visit with an infrastructure plan, he had solutions to problems we hadn’t even thought of yet. The plan was great as its quite hard to understand effluent when your talking about, it but seeing it on a bit of paper and how it all works together makes it look so easy. When the job was all done it was exactly like it was talked about on the plan, no surprises and just really transparent and simple. On the plan we have made provisions for housing cows in the future and have identified we need more m2 per cow then what we do on a feedpad. All of these things have been thought about.”

It’s bloody wet.

Problem Nitty Gritty

  • I have had the same system for over 10 years.

  • There is too much information out there and its confusing what I actually need to do.

  • I want the system to be as simple as possible.

  • I have enough fall and gravity.

  • We have plans to grow and not sure how that is going to impact on our system.

  • I only want to spend the money once.

  • There are so many people that need to be involved.

.Effluent. I mean, Matt.

How we solved it & the outcome

  • Infrastructure plan for the next 10-20 years.

  • Heights and levels are shot to maximise the use of gravity.

  • Using gravity as best as you can means- no moving parts.

  • Having a plan enables you to put infrastructure in the best place and plan for years to come.

  • Having the plan means you can make allowances for future infrastructure/pipe etc while working on current projects.

  • A plan saves time and cost having everything in the right place from the beginning.

  • Having the plan means you can futureproof and provision for your effluent now, for projects in the future.
